Saving a Hero’s Place

This morning, I had the honor of meeting Tommy Cappell and his family, whose commitment and compassion toward supporting first responder families and communities is promoted through remembrance.

Saving A Hero’s Place is a nonprofit organization founded by Tommy that is dedicated to honoring the memory and sacrifice of fallen first responders. The primary mission is to build Honor Chairs—meticulously crafted, personalized wooden chairs placed in Roll Call rooms that serve as lasting tributes to police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Tommy has presented more than 300 Honor Chairs across 30 states, law enforcement museums, and the U.S. Capitol since 2013.
