Last night, the Helotes City Council unanimously approved the Resolution that Jen Sones, Helotes City Council Place 2, and I submitted opposing the proposed MUD permit tied to Lennar Homes’ Guajolote Ranch development.

This Resolution will now be sent to the City of San Antonio City Council, making Helotes’ position clear: we are standing up for our community, our drinking water, and the future of Helotes Creek.

I sincerely thank the Scenic Loop Helotes Creek Alliance and the many organizations, neighbors, advocates, and elected officials who have worked tirelessly to highlight the serious concerns surrounding this project. Your persistence, research, and voices matter—and they are making a difference.

This unanimous vote shows the power of community voices and collaboration. We’re not done yet but tonight was an important step forward. The San Antonio City Council will consider Lennar’s petition on February 5, 2025.
