This morning, I joined City Council Members Buck Russel, Craig Sanders, Jen Sones, and more than 40 dedicated volunteers in Old Town Helotes for a community litter pick-up along Old Bandera Road, stretching from First Baptist Church of Helotes to Helotes Elementary School.
Working together, we rolled up our sleeves and collected litter, helping to keep Old Town Helotes clean and beautiful. Events like these strengthen our sense of pride and responsibility, while reminding us that small acts of service can make a big difference in the quality of life for everyone in Helotes.
A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to make this litter pick-up such a success. Each of you plays an important role in building a stronger, more vibrant community, and your efforts do not go unnoticed. I am grateful for your commitment and Helotes spirit!
Thanks to the support of the City of Helotes Police Department, police officers were present throughout the event to provide traffic safety for volunteers as they walked along Old Bandera Road. Their presence ensured everyone could focus on the clean-up with peace of mind, knowing safety was a top priority.
Kudos to Council Member Buck Russel for planning and organizing this event – the first of many more to come!
